Jamie Graham is a dancer, improvisor and physical comedienne based in Brooklyn, NY. As a dancer, she has performed with Jenny Rocha’s Rocha Dance Theater and nightlife company The Painted Ladies – known as “fly girls for thinking people,” in immersive dance theater company Third Rail Project’s Then She Fell, and in project based work with choreographer Barbara Mahler. As an improvisor, she is one half of The Raving Jaynes with duo partner Amy Larimer, performing regularly at The PIT and The Players Theatre. And as a clown, she performs with Virginia Scott’s newly formed company Some Clowns.
Jamie began her professional dance training at Virginia School of the Arts. She earned her B.F.A. in Dance and a B.A. in English Literature at Webster University, Saint Louis. She did post-graduate study at CODARTS, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She then moved to New York in 2006.
Jamie has studied Klein technique in depth with Barbara Mahler as well as Alexander technique and voice with Jean McClelland. She trained in Action Theater with Cassie Terman, in clown with Virginia Scott, and in comedy improv at The PIT and The Annoyance.
Jamie is devoted to honing the ability to be present, to notice, to collaborate, to take great risks, and to PLAY.
